Diet Update

So, today is the middle of day 5 in the diet. AND.....I've lost five and a half pounds!!! I would have lost more if I hadn't been cheating. I wasn't at home for a day and a half and hadn't planned on being gone so the diet didn't go exactly as planned on the day by day schedule. Yesterday was supposed to be the soup, bananas and milk day but it ended up being more like bananas and veggies day. But still, with all the cheating and alterations I am pretty happy with my progress. I may not lose the 10-17 pounds the diet is supposed to help you lose but at least I'm losing something!!! Yay!!!
And also the soup wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!! It's edible :)

  2. I shouldn't gain the weight back. It's not like I'm starving myself. Today I ate steak, veggies, soup and two oreos. (The oreos are not part of the plan)I usually eat pretty healthy but I was having a REALLY hard time losing the baby weight which is depressing and so I eat(emotional eater). I just needed a jump start to show me that I can lose weight and to help me get started.

  3. Oh, I must have misread the diet. I thought all you were eating was a cabbage soup. I was concerned for you! I think it is wonderful that you are getting this jump start, and then will be able to maintain a healthy weight! YOU ROCK!!! <3

  4. Everyday is different.
The first day you eat the soup and fruit.
The second day you eat the soup and veggies with a baked potato for dinner.
The third day you eat the soup and fruits and veggies.
Day four is bananas, milk and soup.
Day 5 is steak and tomatoes and soup.
Day 6 is steak and veggies and soup.
Day 7 I think is brown rice, soup, veggies and fruit juice.
So, you eat more than soup, and for me I cheat a little bit to make it a little more interesting :)

  5. I think this sounds insane...and I might have to use it the week before my wedding (the week when school is over and I theoretically "should" have control over my day/diet). Is the soup better than the apple vinegar you used to have me take? ;)

  6. It is definitely better!! (I don't recall ever MAKING you drink the vinegar! ;) It's nice because you aren't limited on how much you can eat so you should feel full all the time (unless you have a 4 month old baby calling for your attention all the time :). I really like that I can eat a baked potato and steak, etc...

  7. Wow! Great willpower, Mel. Matt just introduced me to an article and youtube video on the subject of, "Is Sugar Toxic?" After your army diet you may consider going off all sugar, except sugars that occur naturally in fruits, veggies, etc. Just watch the pounds melt off!!! Oh, if you do this, maybe I'll be brave and try it with you...For six weeks or so. Let me know what you think.

Oh, the article was written by Gary Taubes and the youtube link is on the first page of the article.
